Challenge the Boundaries

Three Day Conference and Exhibition

Wednesday 21st – Friday 23rd March 2012, Auckland

Dear Colleague

On behalf of our respective organisations we would like to welcome you to the inaugural MHANZ and AAMHP moving and handling conference “Challenge the Boundaries”.

Following the ever increasing success of the bi-annual AAMHP conference in Australia and the emergence of the MHANZ group in New Zealand we have decided to join forces to give you the best event the Antipodes can provide!

We aim to break down some of the boundaries we share in moving and handling today including the need for education pathways and qualifications, increased evidence for practice and the needs of those areas or specialties that have not yet had their moving and handling needs met.

This event will include key note speakers and leaders in the field from around the world and will also provide an opportunity for home grown talent to show us what they have got.

As we are co-hosting this international event there won’t be another AAMHP hosted conference on Australian soil, until 2014 so make sure you don’t miss out on this unique event!

We also have the launch of the first revision of the New Zealand Moving and Handling Guidelines to coincide with this event adding a unique facet to the event and enabling us to attract an even wider programme for you to enjoy.

The conference will be held in Auckland, the lovely City of Sails in New Zealand. With its temperate climate and stunning Hauraki Gulf scenery we encourage you to make the most of your visit perhaps combining a holiday with the conference?

On behalf of the 2012 Conference Committee, we looking forward to seeing you in Auckland.

Anne McMahon (MHANZ) and Pippa Wright (AAMHP)

Important for this years AGM are the nominations for Executive members.  In accordance with the Associations Constitution, the term of office for Executive positions are 2 years, after which the positions are opened for nominations, or re-nomination, by any financial member of the Association.  For 2010 the all Executive positions are up for nomination.
